Job Summary:
The Cashier's/Sales Associate's job is to learn the basics of the company’s policies, systems and procedures as a foundation to advance.
They must be eager to learn and willing to jump in and help with the many tasks required to run a pet retail business.
From their first day forward, they must help make Customers feel welcome.
The Cashier/Sale Associate works under the support of the Manager-on-Duty; Store Manager, Assistant Manager(s) or Shift Manager(s).
Primary Responsibilities:
o Greeting and Bidding Customers a Kind Farewell (the Basics)
o Learning About the Products & Services
o Assisting Customers
o Showing Customers where Products are Located
o Answering or Seeking Answers to their Questions
o Making Pet Tags
o Bagging and Pricing Live Critters and Bulk Items
o Helping Customers Utilize the Dog Wash
o Carry Outs
o Selling / Upselling with Focus on Dog and Cat Foods
o Helping with Task Lists
o Helping Prepare the Store for Opening (working from a checklist)
o Helping Prepare the Store at Closing for the next Business Day (working from a checklist)
o Cleaning
o Live Animal Prep
o Fronting, Straightening, Rotating and Stocking Products
o Working Cashier Checkout
o Handling Checks, Cash, Coupons and Gift Cards
o Upselling at the Register
o Explaining the Rewards Program to Customers
o Knowing our Low Price Guarantee
o Answering the Phone
o Working as a Team
o The Basics of Product Merchandising
Job Requirements:

· Must be able to lift 20 pounds repeatedly throughout shift.
· Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
· Must be able to read and communicate in English clearly and effectively.
· Must be efficient and accurate with money and figures.
· Must possess manual ability to manipulate register system and handle products.
