Reports To: Director of Nursing or her delegate
Supervises: No one
Works Closely With: Seton Administrator, Sister Servant, nursing staff, Activities Coordinator
and Mater Dei staff who may request transportation services.
Certification-
Licensure: Valid Driver's License in good standing
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1.
Must be able to operate a 14-passenger van (re-designed to transport up to three wheelchairs) with ease.
2.
Requires a high degree of attention to prevent injury to others and damage to vehicle when operating vehicle on public roads.
Must be alert to hazard, and report any malfunction of equipment or vehicle promptly.
3.
Able and willing to work a flexible schedule.
; overtime hours based on 40-hour work week.
4.
Must be able to transfer Sisters to and from vehicles and medical office settings, etc.
Requires physical demands including but not limited to stooping, bending, stretching, pushing, and pulling.
Must be able to maneuver a patient weighing no less than 100 lbs.
Must follow guidelines to seek assistance if documented assist of 2 is needed.
5.
Will be required to dress and undress residents at hospital, labs and doctors' offices, etc.
6.
Must be able to assess residents' needs and utilize resources, materials and equipment according to policy.
7.
Must be able to endure sitting for extended periods of time in vehicle or physician's office.
8.
Willing and able to assist residents with the activities of daily living when not driving during scheduled shift.
(Activities of daily living include but are not limited to: hygiene, ambulation, feeding, repositioning, toileting and dressing.
)
9.
Must be able to work cooperatively and communicate effectively.
Must use tact and good judgment in dealing with varying situations.
10.
Must maintain a professional approach with confidentiality.

All job duties are expected to be completed in accordance with the mission and values of the Daughters of Charity.
12.
Must be able to endure at least 70% to 100% of scheduled shift requiring physical demands including but not limited to: standing, walking, climbing (1ft.
to 4ft.
), stooping, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling and lifting (maximum of 100lbs utilizing appropriate lift equipment).
Must follow guidelines to seek assistance if documented assist of 2 is needed.
13.
Must be constantly alert to patients' needs and utilize resources, materials, and equipment (Arjor lifts, Whirlpool tubs, commode chairs, Geri chairs, etc.
) in a safe and efficient manner.
