*JOB PROFILE*
Sells automotive parts and equipment to customers, over the counter, through the shop or on the phone by performing the following duties.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
Assists customers in selecting required parts; for walk-in customers suggest companion requirements, offer specials and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
Pulls purchased parts from stock.
If part is not in stock, determine availability, urgency for the part and submit an order.
Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other related information.
Sets up orders for daily shipment, delivery or pick-up.
Verifies "will call" and "back-order" files daily and return to vendors, or stock those items not required.
Orders parts not in stock if, after discussion with Service Advisor, it is determined that parts are needed and will be used upon receipt or that the customer will return for the required repairs.
Notifies the Service Advisor and the customer that ordered parts have been received.
Ensures that before parts can be charged out, the technician presents a duplicate copy of the repair order and a parts requisition.
Ensures that all charges are signed by the customer.
Presents customer with a copy of the invoice.
Provides friendly, professional and efficient service to all customers.
Issues credit for returned parts verifying pricing and purchase, any without proper documentation must be approved by the Parts Manager.
Takes inventory of stock.
Keeps counters and work area clean and uncluttered.
Replenishes assigned inventory daily.
Advises Parts Manager when areas of the department are unsafe or not in satisfactory condition.
Keeps current on new products and product updates.
Participates in all training programs that are made available.
Looks up either by catalog, microfiche viewer, or computer part stock number and price.
Fills customer orders from stock.
Creates invoice for sale of parts.
Advises customer on substitution or modification of part when replacement is not available.
Examines returned part to determine if defective, and exchanges part or refunds money.
Marks and stores parts in stockroom according to prearranged system.
Receives and fills telephone orders for parts.
Requires being at work on time and have satisfactory attendance.
Any other duties assigned by management.
