Coleman Lantern 228E Big-hat dated 12/1962 “Transitional Lantern” - $85 (Evansville)

I have an extremely nice Coleman 228E “Big-hat” for sale.
This is called the “Transitional lantern” with a stamped date of 12/1962.
What makes this lantern desirable amongst collectors is that it has the “228E” old-style tall ventilator and it has the “228F” ribbed collar/frame rest with the red Coleman label relocated below the fuel valve but still having the Coleman Sunshine of the Night stamped on the back of the fount.
Coleman did this for a couple months while they switched production from the 228E model to the 228F model.
The lantern is in excellent condition, everything is original including the Pyrex globe.
The lantern has been fully serviced and cleaned, check valve/ valve packings/ generator and pressure checked for leaks and runs like new, $85.
